Amber Smith Blog Three
This final week has flown by fast! I have seen so much in the ways young children learn universally and cross-culturally, in that there are so many similarities. As I reflect on my time in the classroom I realize I was fortunate to shadow two great teachers. Although one was a first and second grade teacher, which is not my level, I still learned just as much from her as I did the prekinder teacher. Being able to join them and their students in implementing their daily schedules was not just enjoyable, but fun for everyone involved, I believed. The littles ones are so full of energy and eager to learn, and it's actually makes a teacher's task easier when it comes to motivation. However, you must come with lots of energy to get you through the day! I'm also glad to have had the opportunity to meet everyone from the school staff to my classmates. Sole I knew from previous classes and I have enjoyed getting to know, learn, and continuing to build rapport with all of them, and hope to maintain contact with them! I am also great fun for my host family, who made me feel at home and part of their family, even if it was for a little while! And lastly, the kiddos! It is them who make me enjoy what I do, with their smiles and hugs they use to greet me every day, along with wanting me to join them in their daily fine and gross motor activities!
