Ciao Chile, See You Later! --- Amanda Yang

The older I get, the worse that I know how to say Goodbye. Looking at the calendar, I feel someone is cutting onion next to me. :(  My staying with the host family is going to end, but I hope we can stay in touch.
My cute family

For the last weekend, I cooked the Asian food for my family, in order to get all the ingredients, we went to two supermarkets and one hypermarket, yet we could not get basil here. Guess it is not in season or it is not usual here. Though it was really hard to get all the ingredients, the dish worked out fitting their appetite.

Something interesting to share, before coming to Chile, I am not a cat person. Yet, somehow my host family got a cat a few months ago, and the cat (Tony) plays in my room everyday, so I am "forced" to befriend with Tony. And it turns out to be really nice to have a cat to keep me company. Now, I am thinking about having a cat when I get home. Jajajaja

The day when we took family photos, my Papa asked "Do I feel comfortable staying with them?" I felt that I have so many words to tell them, but I cannot speak in Spanish and sometimes words lost their meaning through translation. I hope they know that this is the best experience that I could ever have, and thankful for moments we shared together. Those are the most precious gift that I can take away from Chile.
Cecilia, the teacher that I am paired with, has the most outgoing personality ever. She shared her life and her idea about education with me. I really enjoyed working with her, she is an amazing person and I hope when she is visiting America next time we get to hang around in the U.S..

On my journey, I meet so many amazing people and see gorgeous scenery, I hope in the future I get the chance to come back. Ciao!
