Chile Week 2 --- Amanda Yang

After staying for the first week, I am used to the Chilean pattern of life. Really enjoy their meal time, love to listen to them share their daily lives, and meanwhile, I think my Spanish listening is getting a little bit better. LOL

We had a great weekend, they took me to the museum Pedro del Rio Zañartu, it was owned by a rich family and is loctaed next to the Pacific Ocean. The weather was great that day, we took a walk o the sand, saw some starfishes, and passed through two sea caves which was formed by the erosion of sea waves. On Sunday, we traveled west to Salto del Laja. The waterfall was amazing and we did not have to walk a long distance to reach it. We walked to the bed to get better photos. Standing on the river bed was a little bit scary, yet feeling the water kissing my face was a wonderful experience.

I met a lot of family in the weekend, although I do not speak their language, they were so nice to me. When we said goodbye to each other, I knew this would be the first and last time I see them. Love their hospitality and tight family bond. That is something really similar to Taiwanese. I feel so much like home.

Yesterday, we went to the El Chiflon del Diablo. It is a mine under the sea. The name of this location gives people a creepy feeling, and the fact that our tour guide (Daniel) keeps sharing the history about mine accidents, explosion, and the ghost of the miner lingering in this place makes the journey extra scary. However, I am glad I go, it is such a nice experience that I would love to share with my friends.
The second week is going to end soon, I am happy that I enjoy every moment here and feel this vibrant country.
