Journey to the end of the world --- Amanda Yang

Hearing the captain broadcasting ¨We are going to land in Santiago in fifteen minutes,¨ my heart was soaring! I have been dreaming about traveling to Chile for a long time, and I can finally put a check next to Chile on my list now.

The first weekend, my host family brought me to see the Armada de Chile. It was a little be bumpy at the beginning, The navy told me they need to check my ID, yet I forgot to bring my passport with me. Lucky I brought my color copy of my passport with me, and my host Dad helped me to ¨negotiate¨with them. Then, I am in. The scenery was great, the weather was nice, the sea was calm. Catalina expalined the history to me, it was the ship served in The War of the Pacific. Chile won in the end, so that´s a symbol of pride.

As for lunch today, this is my first meal eating out. The seafood is so fresh and sweet, I can literally taste Pacific Ocean in my mouth. Love it so much. And the size of the meal is huge, too. My host family looked at the size of the meals with shocking faces, we had a great time enjoy lunch together. I think meal time is the most impoartant moment for the family, I like the way they shared their daily lifes during the meal and exchanged thoughts.

      Cannot wait to see more!!
