Great Experiences - Jacob Vaughn

It is the end of week two and the fun has not stopped. The students are opening up and having fun with the LSU students rather than being reserved. Makes me want to be able to stay longer. Gina, who I am working with, continues to be awesome. She bought me a completo, gave me a gift, and took me with her class to Alassandrio Park. The park is beautiful with various types of trees and a bird sanctuary, which has a collection of colorful birds. I am going to miss Gina and the students when I have to leave.

My family also continues to be very gracious. I have began cooking with Sandra in order to learn how to cook some Chilean meals. I can't wait to cook them back in Louisiana. Maybe I can even blend the taste of Chile and Cajun together. I probably will not be able to make it taste well, but I sure will give the good ole college try.

This weekend my family is taking me to Salto de Laga. I am excited to see the waterfall and take some pictures with them. I've been trying to take as many pictures as possible and Sandra has been taking a lot as well. She even emails them back home to my wife, which is extremely nice of her. I'm not sure I'll be able to properly thank them for everything they have and continue to do for me.

During one of our weekend trips I was taken to Lota Park and the Mapuche museum. I believe I may have mentioned these in my post last week, but wanted to attach some pictures of the views from Lota Park and a wall with assorted pictures from the museum. Also, there is a picture of Gina and I eating the completo hotdog. The bird picture is from Alassandrio Park and then there is a picture of Brandon and I with our new best friend.

Sadly, next week will be my last blog. I do miss several things about the United States, but I am having a blast in Chile. It will truly be a bitter sweet goodbye next Friday. Blog to ya later avid readers.
