Amber Smith Blog One

This trip has gotten off to a great start.  My host family has made me feel at home and my class assignments are going well.  The only adjustment that I'm struggling with is getting up in the morning because I don't do that anymore.  I've also noticed how family oriented Chile is and the school serves as a community.  AccordIna to Brofenbremner's ecological systems theory, there are many contexts, or communities that impact child development, and school is one of them, as well as home and family.  It is good to see this implemented in the school we are serving in and I look forward to continuing this journey with the people I met; my classmates, host family, mentor teacher, and of course the kiddos!
